President Cyril Ramaphosa has vowed that the government will redouble its efforts to protect whistleblowers following the murder of Madlanga commissions Witness D, identified as Marius van der Merwe.
Van der Merwe was shot multiple times in front of his family and outside his home in Brakpan, Gauteng, on Friday night 5 December.
He owned QRF Task Team, a security company, and previously served in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department EMPD.
