The African National Congress ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has outlined issues that must be tackled by the partys National Executive Committee NEC Lekgotla taking place in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni. Members of the party across the country have gathered with the intention to put together an action plan for the party and government, that will begin the priorities outlined at the January 8 Statement.
Our main task for this year is to fix local government and to fundamentally transfer our economy and all our actions must be geared towards that. Sometimes we are tempted to try and do everything, if we can focus on these, all the other tasks and issues will fall into place. So, during this Lekgotla we must make sure that we come with an implementation plan. It should be a clear template so that we can ensure that we start of the year much more effectively.
Meanwhile,Ramaphosa reinforced the need to fight crime, corruption, Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. Ramaphosa says these were some of the priorities agreed to at the partys Roll Call event in September last year. The event aimed to reaffirm party councilors commitment to accelerated service delivery, community engagement and infrastructure development.
