Western Cape Minister for Local Government and Development Planning Anton Bredell has approved the transfer of R2.5 million to the Knysna Municipality for urgent repairs at the Charlesford Pump Station.
The funding will be used to replace pump motors, with the upgrade expected to be completed in April.
The improvements are aimed at increasing the municipality's ability to pump raw water from the river to the Akkerkloof Dam when conditions allow.
