Firefighters in the Cape Winelands District Municipality CWDM are battling a fire in the mountains above De Doorns in the Hex River Valley.
The fire, which started late Saturday night, has been fueled by light winds, fynbos and alien vegetation.
Spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto says although the fire has spread across a wide area, crews made good progress during cooler night-time conditions.
