KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thami Ntuli says Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi s contract as the provincial police commissioner has been renewed.
Ntuli announced this at a crime imbizo in the Pietermaritzburg area.
He earlier expressed concern about a lack of clarity in the status of Mkhwanazis contract, as it was to expire at the end of this month.
