Gauteng Traffic Police are warning motorists travelling on the N1 southbound not to drive against traffic. Authorities say some drivers are using the northbound lane to travel south, which is a dangerous and illegal practice. Officials warn this could lead to head-on collisions and fatalities.
Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson, Sello Maremane has urged motorists to follow the rules of the road.
Utilising the northbound lane while travelling south may cause head-on-collisions , which can result in fatalities. We are currently engaging with Limpopo traffic police to counteract such dangerous behavior.
