Parliaments portfolio committee on sport, arts and culture says it is entitled to ask the South African Football Association SAFA to reveal salaries of national team coaches, including Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos.
In a statement on Thursday 11 December, committee chairperson Joe McGluwa said SAFA can no longer hide behind the Protection of Personal Information Act POPIA.
This follows a heated committee meeting in November where SAFA officials, led by CEO Lydia Monyepao, cited POPIA as the reason for refusing to disclose salary details.
