The parents of an 11-year-old learner at the centre of a recent hit list controversy at a Milnerton primary school have come forward to challenge aspects of the narrative circulating in the public domain, describing their son as a child in distress rather than a threat.
The incident, which previously sparked concern among parents and the school community, involved allegations that a learner had compiled a list of peers he intended to harm. However, in a statement shared with the media, the child's parents say several serious claims, including that their son brandished a firearm, are entirely false.
According to the family, the school reviewed available evidence, including footage, and found no support for claims involving a weapon. They further emphasised that their household does not own or have access to any firearms.
