Transport Minister Barbara Creecy says over 290 private scholar transport vehicles have been impounded across the country.
This is in efforts to re-establish regulation and professionalism in the scholar transport sector .
Speaking during the Department of Transport scholar transport inspection operation in Potchefstroom in the North West, Creecy also took the opportunity to address the concerns of operators who bemoaned delays in the issuing of permits.
