The City of Cape Town has dismissed claims that it intends to build 10 000 low-cost housing units in Fish Hoek, calling the reports unfounded and misleading, reports Cape town Etc .
According to the Cape Independent , the Fish Hoek Valley Ratepayers' and Residents' Association FHVRRA has strongly opposed any suggestion that Fish Hoek land parcels could be included in the Masiphumelele housing plan.
The association warned that large-scale development in the area could overburden existing infrastructure, strain limited water and transport resources, and alter the valley's environmental character.
