The trial of alleged underworld crime boss Jerome Booysen has concluded for the day in the Western Cape High Court, where key witness Mr X testified.
The witness cannot be identified. The State has been going through Mr Xs bail record from the time of his arrest in relation to his involvement in the murder of steroid smuggler, Brian Wainstein, to becoming a Section 204 witness.
State Prosecutor Mervyn Menigo interrogated inconsistencies in Mr Xs previous statements, as he confirmed that he has no recollection of signing statements made to police on the day of his arrest on the 25th of November 2017, while acknowledging that the signatures in questions are in fact his.
