Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber says the redevelopment of six strategic ports of entry across the country will significantly improve border security .
Earlier, the Border Management Authority BMA announced the appointment of five construction consortiums to redevelop the selected ports of entry at a cost of R12.5 billion.
The ports of entry set for upgrades are Lebombo, Beitbridge, Oshoek, Bopfontein, Maseru Bridge and Ficksburg.
