Mpumalanga Pushes To Keep Metro Fm Awards Amid Economic Boost

mpumalanga pushes to keep metro fm awards amid economic boost

Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu has announced that discussions are ongoing to ensure the Metro FM Music Awards continue to be held in the province.

Ndlovu made the remarks while attending the 25th edition of the awards currently underway at the Mbombela Stadium. This marks the third and, for now, final year that the awards are being hosted in Mpumalanga.

Ndlovu emphasises that the awards have brought significant economic benefits to the province and believes the relationship should continue.

"It cannot be the last because this relationship has been there for the past three years and the relationship is mutualistic. We are all benefiting from this relationship. We will continue to engage with Metro FM to check if we cannot be able to extend this contract. Today, accommodation is full in Mpumalanga, eateries are full in Mpumalanga, and taxi drivers are very happy that they have been working since morning. So, we are benefiting as a province from this relationship," says Ndlovu.
