More victims of the syndicate implicated in the murder of Olorato Mongale have come forward. Following the SABC s interview with an unidentified man in the wake of the fatal shooting of the main suspect in murder case, a victim has come forward claiming to recognise the mans voice and alleging he is part of the syndicate that is robbing women.
Last week, the main suspect in the case, Philangenkosi Makhanya was shot and killed during a shootout with police. He had been sought for Mongales murder whose body was found dumped on the side of the road in Lombardy , north of Johannesburg, over a week ago.
In an exclusive interview with SABC News , one of the victims claims to recognise the mans voice being interviewed as part of a syndicate targeting women they identify on social media. She alleges the same man kidnapped her in December last year whilst they were going out on a date.
"And when I heard this guys voice, that was being interviewed, I said there is no way, 'it's a voice I have heard. This voice lives in my mind rent free'. That guys face and voice is something I will never forget. I remember I used to go to sleep and when I closed my eyes all I see is this guy. Whenever I used to meet a guy that is light skinned, I used to think of this guy," she says.
She says during her ordeal, she was threatened with a knife and a taser gun. Her cellphone was stolen and she was forced to give her banking details and pin numbers before her money was stolen.
