Mitchells Plain police have launched an investigation following the tragic shooting of a 24-year-old man that occurred on Simonsig Avenue in Westridge early on Wednesday morning, reports Cape town Etc .
The police were alerted to the scene after a complaint was lodged regarding gunfire and upon arrival, they discovered the body of a young male, who was dressed in brown tracksuit pants and a blue hooded top.
The victim bore multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, stomach, and hands, leading paramedics to declare him dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear as the assailant or assailants fled the area following the attack.
Captain FC Van Wyk, the police spokesperson, confirmed the ongoing investigation, stating, The motive for this attack now forms part of the police investigation.
