Gauteng police have opened an inquest docket following the discovery of a body of an 11-year-old boy in Fleurhof west of Johannesburg.
Police say the boy was dropped off by the scholar transport yesterday afternoon but never reached his home.
A search ensued and his badly bruised body was found by one of the residents not far from his home this morning.
Gauteng Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says once more evidence emerges then the cause of the childs death will emerge.
"Preliminary investigations found that the child was found with some bruises. But as for now lets wait for the investigation because the postmortem will reveal the real cause of death. So, we will wait for the postmortem and we will reveal the cause of death. For now we cannot speculate for now pending the investigation."
