Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has emphasised that they will ensure employment-intensive road maintenance programmes are increased.
Creecy visited Mahikeng in the North West to monitor the progress of the repair and rebuilding of roads. This forms part of the Vala Zonke programme, which is aimed at improving the overall conditions of provincial and local roads.
A so-called yellow fleet valued at R80 million, which will be key to road maintenance in rural areas and farms, was also unveiled.
