Matric learners have been encouraged to maintain honesty and integrity as they begin writing the National Senior Certificate exams from Tuesday next week.

Some matric candidates have publicly committed to uphold the exam code of conduct at a pledge signing ceremony at Vorentoe High School in Johannesburg.

The Gauteng Education Department says its confident that the provinces results will reflect the hard work of teachers and learners. Department spokesperson Steve Mabona says security has been tightened.
