More than 500 suspects have been arrested in Northern Cape for various offences, including murder, rape, robbery, and burglary.
The suspects were apprehended during the ongoing Operation Shanela in five districts.
Provincial police spokesperson, Molefi Shemane, says compliance inspections were conducted at formal and informal businesses, and several unlicensed liquor outlets were shut down.
