The City of Johannesburg has moved to clarify what it terms misinformation surrounding the removal of a banner by civic group, Solidarity, put up along the M1 motorway.
The City says the banner was set up unlawfully and in contravention of the Citys by-laws.
The City has denied that the decision to remove the banner was due to the upcoming G20 Leaders Summit.
