A chilling case has rocked Hanover Park as a 51-year-old convicted rapist, Igshaan Williams, stands accused of the brutal kidnapping and rape of a young schoolgirl.
The shocking incident has sparked fury among locals, who are demanding answers as to why a known predator was allowed back on their streets.
Williams, who was recently released on parole in November 2024 for a prior rape conviction, allegedly preyed on the innocent child as she walked to her Islamic school on 20 May 2025. According to reports, he first tricked the girl into running an errand for him, then lured her into his home where the unspeakable assault took place.
A massive search by enraged community members led to the girl's rescue and Williams' arrest . The confrontation turned violent, with residents storming his home, resulting in an additional charge of public violence against him.
Now facing four serious charges rape, sexual assault, abduction, and human trafficking, Williams made his second court appearance yesterday at Wynberg Magistrates' Court. The case has been postponed to 25 July 2025, for further investigation, with the suspect remaining behind bars, as reported by Smile FM .
