A Wesbank family experienced a severe shock on Monday evening after a man gave them a plastic bag he claimed contained chicken, only for them to discover it held a human foetus moments before they intended to cook it.
According to a police statement and reports, the incident, which occurred at approximately 5:55pm on 18 August, has led to an open inquest case by Mfuleni police.
As per the account provided to the Cape Argus by family member Natalie Walton, her sister was given the bag by the man who originally had tried to sell it. When she said she had no money, he gave it to her on the agreement that she would share the cooked food with him.
