The Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Services on Gautengs East Rand says a fire at a Germiston rubber recycling company has been contained.
It was discovered that about 15 000 litres of diesel had been stored in plastic tanks that had caught fire during delivery.
Due to runoff of diesel, the fire spread via storm water drains.
