Former Executive Director of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate IPID Robert McBride has accused KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi of previous attempts to interfere in IPIDs investigations.
McBride was testifying on Tuesday 20 January at Parliaments ad hoc committee investigating Mkhwanazis allegations of criminal infiltration in the justice system.
McBride takes on MkhwanaziFrom my time at IPID, Im aware of incidents where General Mkhwanazi played an undue and prosecutable role in trying to disrupt and scuttle IPID's investigation into General Khomotso Phahlane with Brigadier Tlhohokhomo of Crime Intelligence and others," he alleged.
