The City of Ekurhuleni has launched an internal investigation against a metro police department officer who allegedly owns a cash-and-carry warehousing business operated by foreign nationals in Etwatwa.
Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza conducted a mayoral outreach programme in the area where the discovery was made.
It was found that the store operated by foreign nationals was using public streets and private buildings as makeshift warehouses, posing a safety risk to residents.
