The City of Ekurhuleni has registered major performance gains in service delivery, financial and operational aspects in the second quarter of the financial year, Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has revealed.
Addressing Ekurhulenis first ordinary council meeting of 2026 on Friday 30 January, Xhakaza said in the second quarter, the city achieved an operating income of R16.364 billion, which was higher than a budget of R16.307 billion.
The total income budgeted for the 2025/26 mid-year was R34.3 billion. The total operating expenditure is R30.9 billion, he added.
