Deputy Minister of Police Polly Boshielo has urged the Durban Deep community in Roodepoort in Johannesburg to come forward with any information that could help police track down the suspects responsible for the brutal murder of 14-year-old girl, Likhona Fose.
The teenager went missing on Saturday and her body was discovered the following day in an open field just a few kilometres from her home.
The tragedy has struck during Child Protection Week a painful reminder that the country continues to lose its youth to gender-based violence and femicide.
14-year-old Lukhona Fose's body was found exactly a week after 30-year-old Olorato Mongale's lifeless body was found dumped in Lombardy West.
