The community of De Aar in the Northern Cape says it will petition the National Prosecuting Authority NPA to oppose bail against two men accused of murder and defeating the ends of justice.
The two were arrested after police discovered the body of 32-year-old Litwina Johnson in a shallow grave last week, after her disappearance in April.
The arrested men, who include Johnsons boyfriend, will appear in the De Aar Magistrates Court on Thursday.
We are starting today with a petition. A petition that will be signed by everyone who is against GBV. We are going to sign it and hand it on that particular day to NPA opposing bail application citing reasons that these people have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they are very dangerous, says Zwelinzima Mkosana, a community leader.
