Rescue crews recovered three fishermen after their fishing boat capsized off Shelly Point on Friday. NSRI Mykonos and St Helena Bay duty crews were activated at 16h11 on 15 August.
Eyewitnesses reported at least one man clinging to the overturned vessel offshore of Shelley Point. NSRI launched the rescue craft Rotary Onwards and other services responded to the scene quickly NSRI .
Police, Saldanha Bay Traffic Services and WC Government Health EMS joined the operation and volunteers. On arrival, crews found a man washed ashore who paramedics declared deceased at scene immediately.
