The Democratic Alliance DA has expressed profound concern at President Cyril Ramaphosas decision to suspend the Inspector-General of Intelligence IGI Imtiaz Fazel.
The suspension takes immediate effect pending a decision by Parliament's Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence JSCI, which is conducting an investigation into Fazel's conduct.
This follows a complaint the JSCI received, the Presidency said on Wednesday 15 October without revealing the nature of that complaint.
