Judge Nkosinathi Chili is expected to hand down his ruling on former President Jacob Zuma and French arms company Thales application on Wednesday.
Zuma applied for leave to appeal after Chili earlier dismissed their application for acquittal in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
Thales, joined by Zuma in the application, had asked to be acquitted.
