Court Strikes Off Bids To Halt Vhembe Anc Regional Conference

Two separate urgent applications to interdict the Vhembe African National Congree ANC regional elective conference in Limpopo were struck off the roll by the Thohoyandou High Court.

Some ANC members from various branches, along with members of the partys Regional Task Team RTT , filed separate court applications seeking to stop the conference scheduled to be held in Thohoyandou.

In their affidavits, the applicants argued that the conference should not proceed until concerns over the credentials of participating branches were resolved.

Judge Thogomelani Tshidada presided over both matters and struck the first urgent application from the roll, stating that key respondents, the ANC National Dispute Resolution Committee and ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, had not been served with answering affidavits.

"This court is not satisfied that the applicants complied with the requirements of service to all the cited respondents. This application is struck off from the roll," says Judge Tshidada in his ruling on the matter involving ANC branch members.
