Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Velenkosi Hlabisa says consultations are under way with the Electoral Commission on choosing the date for the 2026 local government elections.
The current term will expire on the 1 st of November 2026. Politicians would become Father Xmas if elections held in Jan:Hlabisa
Hlabisa says the elections must therefore be held between 2 November 2026 and 30 January 2027.
