Namibia is experiencing significantly reduced forward bookings as a result of limited airlift capacity, visa constraints and updated travel advisories issued by some source markets.
Full-year statistics posted by the Hospitality Association of Namibia HAN indicate an average room occupancy of 52 for the associations 157 members in 2025. This represents a 2.5 decline from 2024 and is 1.5 below 2019 levels.
HAN CEO Gitta Paetzold said limited airlift, along with visa constraints due to the countrys reciprocal visa system introduced in 2025, affected forward bookings.
