Johannesburg City Power has placed Thabang Mashishi, a manager in the Supply Chain Division, on precautionary suspension with immediate effect pending investigations.
The suspension relates to media reports and allegations lodged by a whistleblower of acts of misconduct and extortion involving current and former City Power contractors.
The utility has also confirmed that Marvin Baepi, General Manager for Research and Development, remains on suspension following a separate case previously reported against him involving similar allegations against Mashishi.
