The Gauteng Education Department has promised to provide additional mobile classrooms at Bovet Primary School in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg. The announcement follows last weeks disruption by disgruntled parents due to overcrowding at the school .
MEC Lebogang Maile conducted an oversight visit at the school on Tuesday to assess the situation.
During last weeks protest, frustrated parents requested a new Tshivenda and XiTsonga school, as Bovet is currently catering to more than 2 000 learners . Maile says they have identified some solutions to ease the pressure.
