In a move that seeks to restore a piece of Cape Town's rich heritage, the Colonial Mutual Clock Memorial tower, located at the bustling intersection of Hans Strijdom Avenue, is set to undergo significant restoration following years of neglect and vandalism, Cape town Etc reports.

This landmark structure, which features the historic clock face installed in 1887 on the original Colonial Mutual building in Adderley Street, was not just the first clock tower of its kind but a beacon of the city's colonial history.

After the building fell victim to a devastating fire, the clock tower was reconstructed in 1983, standing as a reminder of resilience and architectural elegance.

Now, the City of Cape Town is calling on its residents to participate in a unique opportunity to help shape the towers revival. We invite the public to review the four colour options which have been developed for the structure and to vote on the one they like the most, says City of Cape Town Cllr Ian McMahon, representing Ward 115.
