The Confederation of African Football CAF has fined Orlando Pirates 25,000 around R430,000 for two breaches of competition and safety regulations.

The sanctions stem from the Bucs Champions League preliminary round second-leg match against FC Saint Eloi Lupopo in October. The popular South African club crashed out of the continental competition on penalties after a 3-3 aggregate draw.

Pirates fined for CAF breaches

According to a FARPost report on Wednesday 19 November, CAF ruled that Pirates had committed two serious breaches during the game they hosted at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
