South Africas Ronwen Williams, Tylon Smith and Mamelodi Sundowns all missed out on CAF awards at a ceremony held in Moroccos capital Rabat on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.
Sundowns and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Williams was shortlisted for goalkeeper of the year alongside Munir Mohamedi Morocco/RS Berkane and Yassine Bonou Morocco/Al Hilal. Bonou emerged as the winner.
Smith South Africa/Queens Park Rangers made the cut for young player of the year and was up against Abdellah Ouazane Morocco/Ajax and eventual winner Othmane Maamma Morocco/Watford.
