Blitzboks Finish Fourth As Fiji Take Singapore Sevens Crown

South Africa have finished fourth in the Singapore leg of World Rugby Sevens series. The Blitzboks who were top of the overall standing at the start of the tournament, were beaten 12-5 in the semifinal by France, before another narrow defeat in the play-off for this and fourth place.

New Zealand won the bronze medal with a 14-12 victory over the South Africans. The Blitzboks suffered three defeats in Singapore, but not one by more than sevens points.

Fiji were crowned Singapore champions, beating France 21-12 in the Cup final. Fiji are now at the top of the overall standings with 52 points.
