Sunderland's strong early-season momentum was always likely to slow at some point, and Regis Le Bris's side now find themselves outside the top 10 after winning just one of their last six Premier League matches.
That lone victory did come at the Stadium of Light, a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, but the Black Cats were beaten 3-1 away by West Ham United last time out, softfootball reported.
Despite their recent dip, Sunderland remain difficult to beat at home. They are still unbeaten at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League this season and are now the only top-flight side yet to lose a home game after Arsenal's defeat last weekend.
