Attacks In Nigeria: More Than 300 Students And Staff Kidnapped In Niger State Raid

A total of 303 students and 12 teachers were kidnapped by armed men during an attack on St. Marys School, a Catholic institution in Niger state in north-central Nigeria, the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN said Saturday. The updated figure revises an earlier count of 215 students. The numbers were adjusted after a verification exercise and a final headcount, according to a statement from Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, chairman of CANs Niger state chapter, who visited the school on Friday. Morgan Ayre reports.
