The KwaZulu-Natal Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs CoGTA Department has placed all provincial disaster management teams on high alert.
This after the South African Weather Service SAWS issued a weather warning for eThekwini, uMgungundlovu and the Ugu District on Sunday.
It has forecast severe thunderstorms, with a high chance of hail, heavy downpours that could cause localised flooding as well as strong winds.
