The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure has terminated its lease agreement with Medicare24 Tshwane District Pty Ltd, a company owned by tenderpreneur Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.
The lease agreement was for a hospital facility in Pretoria West and was signed in December 2023, the department said on Friday 9 January.
This follows allegations made in Parliaments ad hoc committee investigating claims that criminal syndicates have infiltrated the criminal justice system.
