The ANC in the Western Cape has called for an investigation after videos emerged allegedly showing Bitou municipality deputy mayor Nokuzola Noksi Kolwapi firing a gun into the air during a public mgidi celebration in Kwanokuthula, Plettenberg Bay, on Sunday, 21 December.
Kolwapi, an Ikhwezi Political Movement councillor, was reportedly filmed dancing and singing while discharging the firearm.
According to The Citizen , the ANCs Victor Molosi region said it views the incident seriously and urged law enforcement to independently verify the videos authenticity and investigate the circumstances, stressing that public representatives must uphold the law.
