AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo has questioned the Mthatha Magistrates Courts decision in the Eastern Cape to grant bail to the Walter Sisulu University WSU residence manager, Manelis Mampane, who is accused of fatally shooting a student and wounding another two.
Dalindyebo joined students at Mthatha Campus who barricaded roads with rocks and debris over yesterdays court judgment.
Mampane is accused of fatally shooting 24-year-old Sisonke Mbolekwa and wounding two other students during unrest at the university in April.
Dalindyebo addressed the protesting students after they had a confrontation with the police.
"We are sick and tired of judges that are bribed and taking abnormal decisions, corrupt decisions. This time around, we will not respect that stupid court of law. Its not a violent protest, its a violent judgment, which violates the peoples rights and violates my childrens rights. Therefore, I am going to the Judge President."
