Farioli, who took over the reins at Porto this summer, has opted to exclude four players from his pre-season squad: Samuel Portugal, Fabio Cardoso, Romario Baro, and Andre Franco - all now free to seek moves elsewhere.
By contrast, Sanusi's inclusion signals the manager's willingness to assess the left-back up close, giving him an opportunity to reclaim a place in the starting XI.
Having recently returned to full fitness, the former Santa Clara man is eager to rediscover the dynamic form that once made him a standout figure at the Estadio do Drago.
