Mali and South Africas unbeaten records were on the line during Fridays Womens Africa Cup of Nations Group C matches.
The defending champions, South Africa, drew 1-1 with third-placed Tanzania in Oujda and as a result, Banyana Banyana remain at the top of the group standings.
Opah Clement opened the scoring in the 24th minute to hand the Twiga Stars a surprise lead and the East Africans were enjoying a surprise lead at half-time.
However, Banyana Banyana introduced Lebohang Ramalepe, who provided the assist for Bambanani Mbanes equalizing goal with 20 minutes left.
Meanwhile, Mali remain second in the standings after fighting back to hold Ghana to a 1-1 draw in Berkane, where Alice Kusi had handed the Black Queens an early lead.
