Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa has given notice that proposed adjustments to its manufacturing operations could lead to 470 job losses at two local plants.
According to BusinessTech, the move will affect workers at the Silverton assembly plant in Pretoria and the Struandale engine plant in Gqeberha.
The retrenchment notice breaks the total down into:- 391 operator roles at Silverton

Ford described the change as a necessary realignment to match current and expected market demand. It will offer voluntary separation options and engage in consultation with representative unions.
