Update: 31 August According to SAPS statement, Sea Point police responded to a complaint on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Upon arrival at the crime scene close to the pavilion, they found the body of an unidentified man. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation. An inquest for further investigation has been registered by the Sea Point Police . Police have opened an investigation after a body was discovered at the beachfront. A man's body was found in the early hours near the tidal pool at Sea Point Pavilion, Radio 786 reported this morning.
According to Radio 786 the circumstances of his death remain unclear and police have not confirmed a motive.
Onlookers gathered at the beach while the promenade stayed open to the public.
